Our Approach

Choosing a dental clinic abroad can feel difficult because several treatment plans may look similar on paper. Two clinics may both use the words All-on-4, All-on-6, zirconia or Straumann, yet the doctors involved, the exact implant system, the prosthetic materials, the time allocated to treatment and the aftercare may be very different.

Direct doctor involvement, ethical planning, and transparency

At Soho Dental Clinic, we do not expect every patient to choose us. We do believe, however, that every patient should know what to compare before making an irreversible healthcare decision. Our approach is built around direct doctor involvement before travel and after arrival, ethical treatment planning, transparency about materials and treatment stages, and enough clinical time to explain, confirm and complete complex implant rehabilitation properly.

Soho Dental Clinic is a doctor-owned clinic in Nişantaşı, Istanbul, founded by three dentists who have known each other since high school. The founders remain clinically active and personally involved in patient evaluation, treatment planning and care. The clinic is particularly focused on full-arch implant rehabilitation, All-on-X treatment concepts, advanced implant surgery and revision of previous implant treatments.

Our position: the lowest quote is not always the best value, and the highest quote is not automatically the best treatment. The important question is whether the plan is appropriate, transparent and built for long-term function.

  1. Treatment Planning Should Begin with Diagnosis, Not a Package

A full-mouth treatment plan should not begin with a sales target or a pre-selected package. It should begin by understanding which teeth are healthy, which can reasonably be treated, which have a poor prognosis, how much bone is available, how the bite functions and what the patient actually needs.

Our doctors first look for opportunities to preserve natural teeth where there is a realistic long-term prognosis. Extraction is irreversible. We do not believe healthy or maintainable teeth should be removed simply to make a full-arch package easier to sell.

Before travel, patients can send X-rays, photographs and relevant medical information for preliminary evaluation. When appropriate, an online consultation with the treating doctor can also be arranged. For complex cases, our doctors can review the patient’s X-ray or scan together with them on screen, using an on-screen pointer or annotations to explain what they see, which teeth may be saved, which areas require treatment and why a particular approach is being considered. The final plan is then confirmed only after clinical examination and, when indicated, CBCT assessment in Istanbul.

The right plan is not always the biggest plan

Some patients genuinely need full-arch implant rehabilitation. Others may benefit from a more conservative combination of tooth-saving dentistry, individual implants, periodontal treatment or prosthetic rehabilitation. We prefer to explain the alternatives and their limitations rather than assume that every international patient needs the same solution.

  2. We Take Time to Explain the Case - Before Treatment Begins

For complex dental treatment, informed consent should be more than a signature on a form. Patients should have enough time to understand what the doctors have found, what is being recommended, what the alternatives are, what the limitations may be and why the proposed treatment makes sense for their individual case.

That explanation can begin before the patient ever boards a plane. When a patient wants a more detailed remote discussion, our doctors can join the online consultation personally and walk through the available X-rays, scans and photographs. Using screen sharing, an on-screen pointer or simple annotations, they can explain the clinical findings and the reasoning behind the preliminary plan in a way that is easier to follow than a quotation alone.

The same principle continues after arrival. For complex implant and full-mouth cases, the first clinic day is deliberately not treated as a rushed pre-surgery formality. Our initial clinical examination and consultation commonly takes around one to two hours on average, depending on the complexity of the case. This time is used for examination, imaging review, discussion between the doctors where needed, confirmation of the treatment sequence and a detailed conversation with the patient.

Even when a patient has already accepted a preliminary plan and travelled to Istanbul, we do not treat that preliminary plan as an obligation to proceed unchanged. The clinical findings may confirm the original proposal, but they may also justify modifying, simplifying or postponing part of it. Before treatment begins, we explain any changes, the reasons behind them, the expected stages, important risks and the alternatives so the patient can make an informed decision.

Direct access to the doctors is part of the consultation model

In some high-volume treatment models, most pre-arrival communication may take place through coordinators or sales teams, and the patient may have limited opportunity to discuss the case directly with the clinician who will perform the treatment. Our model is different: coordinators help with communication and logistics, but clinical questions and treatment decisions belong to the doctors. When a detailed doctor consultation is useful, we make that clinical access available before travel and continue it in person after arrival.

  3. Compare What Is Inside the Quote - Not Only the Total

A quotation is not just a number. It is a clinical proposal. A lower total may reflect a different implant system, fewer components, different restorative materials, less laboratory time, a shorter prosthetic stage or exclusions that only become clear after arrival. A higher price can also be unjustified if the plan contains unnecessary treatment.

Before comparing two offers, ask whether they describe the same treatment with the same scope. At Soho Dental Clinic, we aim to state the treatment, implant brand and expected stages clearly, while also identifying case-dependent procedures that may change after clinical examination.

Question to ask Why it matters How we approach it at Soho Dental Clinic
What is the exact implant brand and system? A parent company, country of origin or phrase such as "premium implant" is not enough to identify what will actually be placed. We name the actual implant system proposed in the treatment plan and provide implant identification documentation after treatment.
Who will review my case and perform the surgery? Full-arch implant rehabilitation depends on diagnosis, surgical judgment, tissue management and experience with complications - not only implant placement. Cases are reviewed and treated through a doctor-led model, with the founders directly involved in clinical planning and application.
Can any of my natural teeth be preserved? Removing a tooth is irreversible. An aggressive plan may look simpler but may not be biologically appropriate. We first assess whether teeth have a realistic prognosis before recommending extraction.
What is included in the quoted price? Temporary teeth, final teeth, imaging, laboratory work, grafting, sinus procedures, sedation, extraction, hotel or transfers may be treated differently by different clinics. We explain package scope and case-dependent extras before treatment whenever they can be anticipated.
How much time is allocated to the final prosthetic stage? The final teeth require bite, speech, aesthetics, hygiene access and fit to be checked and adjusted. We allocate a dedicated second-stage workflow for full-arch final restorations rather than treating the prosthesis as a same-day finishing step.
What happens after I return home? Implant treatment continues through healing, maintenance and possible troubleshooting. Patients receive aftercare guidance and can contact the clinic for remote review when concerns arise.
Is the clinic authorized for international health tourism? International health tourism is a regulated healthcare activity in Turkey. Soho Dental Clinic is authorized by the Turkish Ministry of Health for international health tourism and can be verified through official public sources.
  4. The Exact Implant Brand Matters

Patients are often presented with brand language that sounds more specific than it really is: “Swiss implant,” “German implant,” “Straumann Group,” or “premium European implant.” These descriptions can be useful context, but they do not identify the exact product being placed.

A company can belong to a renowned dental group and still be a separate brand with its own product line. For example, Medentika identifies itself as a Straumann Group brand, but Medentika and Straumann are not the same implant brand. The issue is not that one brand is automatically good or bad; the issue is whether the patient is being told exactly what they are buying.

If a quotation says Straumann, ask whether the implant fixture itself is an original Straumann system and verify. If another brand is being proposed, it should be named by its actual brand. At Soho Dental Clinic, when a patient selects or is quoted a specific implant brand, our aim is to identify that brand transparently rather than relying on parent-company wording.

Before you book: ask for the exact implant brand, implant system and written confirmation. After treatment, keep your implant passport or identification records.

  5. Full-Arch Treatment Requires More Than Implant Placement

All-on-X rehabilitation has two equally important sides: the surgical foundation and the final prosthetic result. A technically placed implant is only one part of the treatment. The final teeth must also support chewing, speech, facial harmony, bite stability, hygiene and long-term maintenance.

Soho Dental Clinic was built around a multidisciplinary doctor-led model. Dr. Dt. Onur Utku Yüksel focuses on periodontology, advanced surgical implantology and full-arch implant rehabilitation. MSc. Dt. Hakkı Serdar Ünal combines oral implantology with implant-supported restorative planning. Dt. Ufuk Ağdaşan focuses on the prosthetic, restorative and digital completion of complex cases, including final fixed teeth, occlusion and aesthetic rehabilitation.

That combination matters in full-mouth cases because the surgery should be planned with the final prosthesis in mind from the beginning. Implant position, bone, soft tissue, restorative space, bite and the design of the final bridge influence one another.

  6. We Give the Prosthetic Stage the Time It Needs

One concern frequently raised by patients when comparing low-cost dental treatment offers is whether the treatment process will be explained transparently and whether sufficient clinical time will be dedicated to the prosthetic stages, adjustments and finalization of the restoration. Heavy discounted package deals may be alluring, but these kind of crucial details linger in patient’s minds and become a source of worry. Healthcare should never be about anxiety.

In full-arch implant rehabilitation, the second visit should not be treated as a simple handover appointment. Accurate records, bite registration, digital or conventional impressions, trial stages, speech assessment, tooth position, smile line, facial support and occlusal adjustments can all affect comfort and long-term function.

Our usual workflow allows a dedicated period for the final full-arch restoration rather than compressing the process into the shortest possible stay. If a restoration needs adjustment, the clinical priority is to resolve that issue before the patient returns home rather than treating speed as the main success metric.

  7. We Do Not Force Anatomy into a Standard All-on-4 Package

All-on-4 is an important treatment concept, but it is not automatically the right answer for every edentulous or terminal-dentition patient. The number and position of implants should be determined by anatomy, bone availability, bite forces, prosthetic requirements and long-term maintainability.

Depending on the case, the appropriate plan may involve All-on-4, All-on-6 or another All-on-X configuration. Patients with significant bone loss may require grafting, sinus procedures or advanced alternative anchorage techniques such as zygomatic, pterygoid or other case-specific implant approaches. Revision cases may require removal of failed implants, regeneration and a completely new prosthetic strategy.

The objective is not to make every patient fit a package. It is to find the most responsible solution for the anatomy that is actually present.

  8. Materials and Components Should Be Named, Not Hidden Behind Marketing Terms

Patients commonly focus on the visible final teeth, but implant rehabilitation contains multiple components: the implant fixture, abutments or multi-unit components, temporary prosthesis, final restorative material and laboratory work. Bone grafts, membranes and other surgical materials may also be relevant.

We prefer to explain what is being used and why. Different implant systems and restorative materials can be appropriate for different cases and budgets. What matters is that patients are not led to believe they are receiving one product when a different product is actually being used.

This transparency also helps future maintenance. If a patient needs treatment years later in another country, accurate implant identification and treatment documentation can make follow-up easier.

  9. Official Authorization Is Verifiable

Dental tourism is healthcare, not simply travel. Patients considering treatment in Turkey should confirm that the clinic they choose is legally authorized to provide international health tourism services.

Soho Dental Clinic is authorized by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Health for international health tourism. Our status can be checked through official government and HealthTürkiye sources. We encourage patients to verify authorization independently rather than relying only on a logo or a statement on a clinic website.

  10. Aftercare Is Part of the Treatment

No responsible clinic can promise that biological or prosthetic complications will never happen. Implant treatment is influenced by healing, oral hygiene, smoking, medical conditions, bite forces, maintenance and many other factors.

Our approach is to explain these realities before treatment and remain available afterwards. Patients receive treatment information and aftercare guidance, and implant patients can receive identification documentation for the components used. If a concern arises after returning home, photographs, X-rays and symptoms can be reviewed remotely before deciding whether local care or a return visit is appropriate.

A warranty can be useful, but it should never be used as a substitute for proper treatment planning, maintenance or honest discussion of clinical risk.

  11. Look at the Quality of Reviews, Not Only the Number

Reviews can be helpful, but a very large review count should not be treated as clinical evidence by itself. Online reputation services exist across many industries, and review quantity alone cannot tell a patient whether a clinic is appropriate for a complex surgical case.

When researching any clinic, read the reviews rather than only looking at the score. Look for treatment-specific detail, realistic timelines, references to the doctors involved, discussion of both surgery and final teeth, aftercare experiences, video testimonials and a natural pattern of feedback across independent platforms.

For complex treatment, one detailed account from a patient who completed an All-on-X or implant revision journey may be more informative than hundreds of short comments that provide little clinical context.

  12. We Do Not Aim to Be the Cheapest Clinic in Istanbul

Turkey offers a wide range of dental clinics, treatment models and prices. Patients may find quotations below ours, and they may also find quotations considerably above ours.

Our objective is not to win every comparison by being the lowest number. We aim to offer a fair price for doctor-led treatment, named materials, appropriate surgical planning, sufficient prosthetic time, international patient support and responsible aftercare.

A lower-cost clinic may still be the right choice for a particular patient. If you choose another provider, our advice is simply to compare the details carefully: who is treating you, what is being placed, what is included, what can change after arrival, how much time is allocated to finalization, and what support exists if something does not go as planned.

  13. Who Soho Dental Clinic Is Best Suited For

Soho Dental Clinic may be a particularly good fit if you value:

    • Direct doctor involvement before, during and after treatment
    • The option of a detailed doctor-led online consultation before travel when clinically useful
    • A diligent first-day examination and consultation, commonly ranging about one to two hours for complex cases
    • An approach that first considers whether natural teeth can be preserved
    • Full-arch implant rehabilitation and advanced surgical experience
    • Case-specific All-on-X planning rather than a one-size-fits-all package
    • Clear identification of implant brands and restorative materials
    • Transparent explanation of likely additional procedures and costs
    • A dedicated prosthetic workflow for the final teeth
    • Official authorization for international health tourism
    • Clear communication about risks, limitations, healing and aftercare
    • A boutique clinical environment where your voice is actually heard, rather than a high-volume production model

If your priority is simply to find the lowest possible advertised price, we may not always be the first clinic on your list. If your priority is to understand the treatment, speak with the doctors responsible for it, know why each step is being recommended and make a decision based on long-term function as well as cost, we believe Soho Dental Clinic is worth comparing carefully.
